Zona Nouă International Festival (Z9Festival) is a young literature festival based in Sibiu, Romania.

Started in 2015 and organized by the Zona Nouă (New Zone) Magazine and the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, the festival was conceived as a platform for emerging writers from all over the world. Every year, in the city that was Europe’s 2007 Capital of Culture, a number of select guests read their work in front of the Romanian audience and participate in debates, dialogues, and conferences.

You can check out previous guests here: Ist edition; IInd edition.

Also, for more information on what the festival feels like if you’re a guest, read Sam Riviere’s chronicle of the first edition here.
